|
People now a days don't hesitate on driving long roads for school works, office appointments, or even leisure activities with friends. In order to maintain safety, drivers must secure a driver's license to ensure that road precautions and rules are understood. Even in small town like Montana, a driver's license must be secured. Distribution of Montana driver's license is managed by the Field Operations Bureau under the Motor Vehicle Division. When securing a Montana drivers license applicants must be at least 16 years old or 15 years old if with driver education. First time applicants must pass 3 tests covering their vision, knowledge and road skills. Depending on the type of driver's license applied for, applicants must also pass certain medical requirements. The applicant's Social Security number will be asked in both new and renewal application. Corresponding fees will be collected from each applicant and will be endorsed to the Country Treasurer's Office or to any driver exam station. Application for a Montana driver's license also needs specific documents such as proof of residency, proof of identity and proof of authorized presence. A Montana driver's license has a unique license number that is generated by the system. Once secured, it must be with the holder when driving. It is valid for four to eight years usually expiring on the birth date of the driver. It may be suspended in certain situations like driving with an alcohol blood concentration of 0.08% or more, rejection to alcohol testing, not paying fines, 3 incidence of reckless driving within a year, unlawful use of the license and many more.
Some of the grounds for the revocation of a Montana driver's license are false statement under oath related to the operation or ownership of a vehicle, accumulated 30 or more points of traffic offenses within 3 years time and neglecting vehicular attacks. The driver may file complaints or petitions should their license were suspended or revoked.
Safety on the road is everybody's responsibility. Whether you are a driver, a passenger or a person and if you are crossing the street or even just a by stander all of us must do our part. As for drivers in Montana securing a Montana drivers license is just one thing, checking the vehicle, maintaining responsible driving and following road signs and traffic rules is another. If you can do all of these, then comfortably drive that long road miles and miles away. |
